Radius App
App Prototype - April 2020
Objective
Develop an easy to use information system and location tracking diary that will allow users to make informed decisions about safety, travel, and data related to COVID-19 based on their desired area of impact.
Audience
COVID-19 and other infectious diseases impact a diversity of populations and benefits from all populations being better informed about safety protocols, precautions, and response. The usefulness of this application hinges on a wide audience adaptation.
Audience Considerations: With a growing apprehension of social media, data collecting apps, and privacy in tech, building in a sense of anonymity and trust is essential. A wide audience scope demands familiarity and comfort in the UX/UI in order to ensure usability, therefore the experience should take into account other apps and technology users engage with regularly. Since this is a product of safety and necessity, ease and convenience will be a driving factor in the usability and impact. Users should be able to quickly accomplish their desired tasks without distraction or difficulty.
Timeline
I restricted my time to a total of 10 hours distributed across 3 days for this challenge. I wanted to ensure enough time to make thoughtful decisions and bring data to validate my design while still keeping the spirit of a design charrette/design sprint. The primary goal was to build out a pretotype with preliminary user research that would be ready to validate with user testing.
Methodology
With a limited window for this design challenge, the focus was put on building and gathering enough data through desk research and a quick execution survey to validate and build out the concept and wireframe of an app for a cohesive pitch.
